In Flagrante means "caught in the act" at last night's performance was indeed an insight inside the weird and wonderful world of fetish.
Having absolutely no idea what to expect was probably the best approach for the evening as seeing really was believing.
Whips and chains, naughty things with baking recipes and bondage the one hour performance certainly covered a lot of ground.
The sculpted dancers offered a contemporary performance that was both daring and dark, humorous and enlightening.
Described as a modern and deviant take on the burlesque revival; six dancers caught in the act with a fetish for leather, public nudity and a wild equestrian spirit.
The performance drew much conversation from audience goers both pre and post show and I suspect many headed onto the Cube Club afterwards to dissect the show and cool off with stiff (excuse the pun) drink.
A truly unique performance as the festival draws to a close. If you want to share the experience with friends I am told the show heads to Tauranga this coming weekend and New Plymouth the following. Perhaps give Granny a heads up before you extend the invite!
Today's shows really are your last chance to experience some festival entertainment, so here's what going on on your Sunday -
Turangi folk can head along to Ta Moko Tuwharetoa from 10am till 4pm today. In Taupo, foodies may be interested in this culinary arts feast, The Winemaker and the Cheesemaker at the Merchant of Taupo at 2pm and tonight head along to the Crater Room at 7pm and kick back with the Bellbirds who will bring the festival to a close.
It's been an incredible 11 days and a privilege to a part of it all. Huge thanks to Amanda, Kylie and the Erupt crew for all their hard work, dedication and passion in bringing together such a spectacular event.
Round of applause please...
